Pilsen Neighbors Community Council, organizers of the largest Latino festival of its kind in the country Fiesta Del Sol, proudly announce our partnership with Lighthouse Immersive, the creators of the Immersive Frida Kahlo exhibit.
As the new Lighthouse Immersive partner, Pilsen Neighbors Community Council will be overseeing the community outreach with different community organizations such as El Valor, Benito Juarez Community Academy, Orozco Academy, and Gads Hill Center.
As part of this community outreach, PNCC will be in charge of distributing 400 tickets between our community partner organizations, as well as offer discounted Immersive Frida Kahlo tickets to our community.
In addition, both PNCC and Lighthouse Immersive will launch a co-branded marketing campaign to promote Immersive Frida Kahlo, as well as the 50th anniversary of Fiesta del Sol, which this year will be held from July 28th to the 31st, in the heart of Chicago, the Pilsen neighborhood.
The partnership between Pilsen Neighbors Community Council and Lighthouse Immersive will serve as a connection between the art of Frida Kahlo, and the communities of the southwest side of Chicago. This partnership will allow our community to experience firsthand how Frida Kahlo’s art has impacted the Latino culture and her process of becoming the female empowerment icon that she is today.
Being one of the most important figures in the art world, Frida Kahlo has contributed and helped represent the Latino culture as well as women empowerment worldwide. Frida Kahlo within her lifetime faced many hardships which she expressed through her art that has now become a well known symbol of the Latino culture. The immersive exhibit helps to highlight the legacy of Frida Kahlo and all her accomplishments, as well as the perseverance she faced throughout her life.
“As a community-based organization, we are proud and honored to partner with an Art Institution like Lighthouse Immersive. Their work with the Immersive Van Gogh and now with the Immersive Frida Kahlo is something that we see as an opportunity not only to highlight the art of a Latina artist like Frida Kahlo but also serve as a community outreach organization on the southwest side of Chicago. Our goal is to connect more Latinos with their roots, with our culture, and the Immersive Frida Kahlo is a great opportunity to do so.” said Juan F. Soto, PNCC’s Executive Director.
Pilsen Neighbors Community Council will be hosting a networking event at the Lighthouse Immersive venue (108 W. Germania Place, Chicago, IL) known as “Vernos para Conocernos”, where guests will enjoy an evening of food, drinks, and networking. In addition, thanks to our partner Lighthouse Immersive, guests will have the opportunity to experience Immersive Frida Kahlo.
