The Fiesta del Sol Art Expo is back!

During the Fiesta del Sol weekend, we will be performing different activities, such as Live Painting by local artists: David Gauna & Claudia Rangel:
David is a self taught artist, identifying as a gay, cis-gender latino male. David discovered his passion for youth development and community engagement right after high school when he worked as a student mentor for teens. David realized that art is a tool, not only for self exploration, but to also nurture, engage, educate, and spread awareness too.

Claudia is a Chicago artist working heavily with youth and community in Little Village and Pilsen neighborhoods. “Self love & self worth were the biggest factors to my journey to healing my inner child.Sometimes we feel like we are not enough and we deserve the hurt, to summarize the answer, WE ARE ENOUGH. When we begin to heal ourselves we are standing up for ourselves, in hopes to heal those around us.” – CLAÜ https://www.instagram.com/claudiarts/

Live Painting by visiting international artist Raul Sisniega.
Raul is a visiting artist from Mexico City. This is his second summer in Chicago and has built a strong relationship with Pilsen and the creative community. “I am interested in exploring the deep levels of connection between technology, biology, religious philosophy and consciousness. At the center of my practice there is an intellectual need to express the nature of reality through images that arise from the reflections that happen in my search to find meaning in human experience. Through the fusion of repetition patterns, ancient symbols and geometric characters, I construct scenes that aspire to transport the viewer on a psychedelic, spiritual and hypnotic journey.” https://www.instagram.com/biosisniega/
